Jackie Griswold's Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk

If I told you I'm walking 60 miles in 3 days to help women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive, would you support me?

I am writing to tell you about a very special event in which I am proud to be involved during the weekend of May 17, 2002. I will be one of over 2,500 walkers participating in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. The 3-Day is a 60-mile walk from Fitchburg to Boston to raise money for awareness, research, and early detection of breast cancer. I have chosen to participate in this important event in honor of my mother who died from breast cancer, as well as many other friends whose lives have been affected by breast cancer, and because I believe breast cancer research is so important.

This will be an amazing and challenging experience for me, and I would like to ask for your support. I have agreed to raise at least $1,900 in donations for the 3-Day by April 15, 2002. Please help me reach this goal by making a contribution to the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. The proceeds will benefit the Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Crusade. The Crusade awards grants to non-profit organizations that educate women about the benefits of early detection and treatment of breast cancer. It also supports vital research efforts that will one day help us to find a cure for this disease. All contributions to the 3-Day are fully tax-deductible.

You can get more information about the walk by going to:

You can use the enclosed form to mail in a donation, donate online, or call 1-800-825-1000. The event name is the Boston Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. I am registered as Jackie Griswold, participant number 1807.

I have a lot of hard work ahead of me to get ready, but it's going to be an amazing experience. I'm very excited about doing it, and totally up for the challenge. Please consider making a donation to help in this fight against breast cancer. Any amount that you can contribute will help to save the life of someone's wife, mother, sister, daughter or best friend. Feel free to photocopy the donation form and pass it along to your family and friends that might be interested in supporting the 3-Day.

Remember why I am walking, how hard I am training, and how far I will walk. This cause and this event are very important to me. I know I can count on your help, and really appreciate your generosity.

Thank you!
